The characters within our film would be protagonists and the audience would auotmatically feel warmth for them and take a liking to them due to their good personas and personalities. The characters within a romance genre film are conventionally good-hearted and warm natured. These aspects will reflect in our film in order to remain conventional. Romance represents fantasy and we feel that exceptionally good looks and charm will provide the themes and aspects of fantasy for the audience and their imaginations. Jack, the starring male character in the romantic film Titanic, is a common young American male whom has luckily won himself a ticket on the titanic ship. His personality is relistic and he relates to a lot of people whom fit into the categoric target audience. He is astheticallly young looking and almost posses of some what a 'baby' feature face. His hair is always styled to be natural in the film, with his fringe flicked/wavey - it has been styled to look unstyled as his character is not a perfectionist nor a vein character. The audience can immediately tell that Jack is a protagonist. He is also conventionally handsome, but in a natural way which makes the audience take a liking to him. Rose is the starring female actress in the film Titanic. Although her family is very wealthy and come across to the audience as vein and self-absorbed, Rose has personality traits that allow the audience to know that she is also, alike to Jack, a protagonist. The audience can then make connections and automatically want the two protagonists to get together. Rose is conventionally pretty and we can see that she has the wealth to wear make-up, expensive jewllery and clothes, and have her hair looking in a perfectly styled way. She is the opposite to jack when it come to looks and how they go about the asthetics, however their personalities reflect and compliment eachother. Rose's mother's personality of vein, sinister and evil allow for the audience to feel sympathetic towards Rose and this makes the audience like her even more. We as a group feel that our characters personalities should be inspired by characters like Rose and Jack as they both portray charm, happiness, hope and joy - these all give positive effects to the audience and give them likeable featuers. The two characters are both coventioanlly handsome/beautiful and this is something that we will try to look for when selecting our characters.
